Roles at the Masters Tournament

One of the most popular traditions for patrons is enjoying Masters Tournament concessions, including our famous sandwiches. The Concessions team supports this operation, from food preparation to working at concession stands throughout the grounds.

Assistant in Training

The Assistant in Training is primarily responsible for assisting in the coordination and oversight of a specific Concessions operation, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Assistant in Training supervises Tournament staff, ensures stock levels are available and ensures safety, cleanliness, sanitation and presentation of the assigned location. This position also serves as a liaison between Tournament employees and department management.

Barista

The Concessions Barista is primarily responsible for preparing hot and cold beverages such as coffee and teas, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Barista delivers product to each concessions line, checks quality control at the stand and keeps work station clean to ensure a sanitary and safe work environment. Concessions Baristas must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Beverage Attendant

The Concessions Beverage Attendant is primarily responsible for preparing and serving beverages, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Beverage Attendant ensures cleanliness, assists with deliveries, maintains efficient operation of beverage area, monitors inventory and maintains accurate usage records. Beverage Attendants must be at least 18 years of age.

Cashier

The Concessions Cashier is primarily responsible for processing the sales transactions for patrons’ purchases, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Cashier greets in a courteous manner, operates the Point of Sale equipment, scans items into the computer system, processes payments, requests signatures and provides transaction receipts. Concessions Cashiers must be at least 18 years of age.

Greeter

The Greeter is primarily responsible for welcoming patrons to a specific Concessions operation, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Greeter learns surrounding locations including restrooms, first aid, score boards, condiment stands, exits from course, pairing sheets and nearby golf holes that patrons may request. This position assists the Stand Supervisor in determining the time to be posted on Awareness Signs.

Material Handler

The Material Handler is primarily responsible for the resupply of concessions food and products to the stands, ensuring that all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Material Handler loads and unloads trucks, maintains a clean environment, monitors product ensuring that no product is unattended and operates a golf cart and/or full-sized vehicle, following all legal and Club safety regulations. Material Handlers must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Line Cook

The Line Cook is primarily responsible for the preparation and production of menu items, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Line Cook gathers supplies needed, sets up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station, ensures sanitary conditions, covers, dates and properly stores leftover product, assists in maintaining the safety and security of the kitchen and displays interpersonal skills to work within a team environment. Culinary certification and/or relevant technical culinary training is preferred.

Pastry Cook

Under the direction of the Pastry Chef, the Pastry Cook is primarily responsible for the production, set-up and preparation of all baked goods in accordance with club recipes and standards while maintaining a neat, clean and safe work area at all times, maintaining the strict confidentiality of all Club business and ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Pastry Chef serves items in accordance with established portions and presentation standards and ensures assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary.

Bartender

The Bartender is primarily responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Bartender inventories all products to ensure sufficient stock is maintained, prepares garnishes, stocks glassware, paper products and ice, secures all alcoholic beverages nightly, reports violations and ensures that safety, accident, sanitation and emergency policies are consistently observed. Augusta National’s practice requires that Bartenders be at least 18 years of age with previous bartending experience.

Operations

The Operations position is primarily responsible for confirming sufficient stock levels of an assigned area of the Golf Shop, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, Operations personnel manages product supply levels, communicates resupply quantities, serves as a liaison between Tournament employees and Assistant Supervisor, addresses patron/employee questions or concerns in accordance with department procedures and reports any suspicious behavior to department management. Prior experience demonstrating proficiency in developing or communicating order quantities is preferred.

Sales Attendant

The Sales Attendant is primarily responsible for presenting products to patrons, emphasizing features, fabrication and care instructions, ensuring all service meet Club standards. Additionally, the Sales Attendant greets everyone in a friendly, courteous and professional manner, offers sales assistance, assists with size selection, asks questions in order to improve the Masters Experience and learns all product locations within the Golf Shop. Prior sales experience is preferred.

Security Host

The Security Host is primarily responsible for alerting law enforcement or security staff of suspicious behavior and assisting patrons, ensuring all service meets Club standards. Additionally, the Security Host monitors surroundings for prohibited items, advises patrons of entry restrictions, assists patrons with directions regarding the entry process, notifies First Aid (if necessary) and patrols assigned area. Security Hosts must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

How do I apply for a position?

Do I have to work every day of Masters week?

Yes, employment at the Masters Tournament is contingent upon working all scheduled days/hours to include the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals. Additionally, you will be required to attend orientation and/or job training prior to starting work.

What time do I report for work each day? What is the schedule?

Depending on your position, you may work between 10-14 hours each day. Start times and work schedules vary by department and position. Work schedules will be provided prior to starting work.

Do employees have breaks?

Yes, all Tournament employees will have scheduled breaks. The times and duration will be determined by your supervisor.

What is the pay rate?

Compensation varies by position. This information will be provided in the offer letter, should you be invited to work.

Is there a dress code / uniform?

Yes, dress and uniform guidelines will be available in your onboarding, should you be invited to work. All required uniforms will be provided by Human Resources. If there is any item you will need to provide, it will be communicated in advance of your first day of work.

Does the overnight shift mean throughout the night?

Yes, the overnight shift is approximately 7:00 pm – 9:00 am.

Are there any physical requirements?

Yes, the majority of positions require long periods of standing, walking, bending and lifting. Any specific lifting requirements will be stated on the job description provided on each job posting.
